Tree Planting
The Right Tree.
The Right Place.
Done Properly.
Planting a tree is a long-term investment. We advise on species selection, soil conditions and positioning, then plant correctly so it establishes well and lasts.
Most tree failures start before the tree goes in the ground. Wrong species for the site, planted too deep, staked incorrectly, or positioned where root growth will cause problems. We help clients avoid these mistakes.
Whether you're replacing a felled tree, establishing a new garden, adding screening and privacy, or wanting to give something back to the local environment. We can advise on the best approach and carry out the planting to a professional standard.
Species Selection
Choosing the right species matters. We consider soil type, aspect, space available at maturity, proximity to buildings and services, local TPO and Conservation Area implications, and your goals for the tree, whether that's wildlife value, seasonal interest, privacy or timber.
We work with native species where possible (oak, field maple, rowan, silver birch, hawthorn) but can advise on ornamentals and non-natives where they're appropriate to the site.
Planting for the Long Term
Correct planting technique gives a tree its best start. We prepare the planting pit correctly, use appropriate staking and ties where needed, apply mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds, and advise on watering and establishment care.
We also supply and plant semi-mature specimens where an instant impact is required: useful for screening, boundary planting, or replacing a significant tree.
Replacing Felled Trees
If we've removed a tree from your site, we can advise on appropriate replacement planting, including any replanting conditions attached to a TPO consent. Some councils require like-for-like replanting as a condition of a felling application.

A Note on Urban Timber
What goes down can come back up.
When we fell a tree, we think about what comes next, whether that's milling the timber into planks, donating wood to community projects, or advising on the right replacement. Planting is part of that cycle.
