Tree Felling & Removal

Safe Removal.
Clean Site.
Every Time.

From a single garden tree to large-scale commercial clearance. We fell and remove trees of all sizes safely, efficiently, and with full clean-up included. NPTC qualified arborists, £10M public liability insurance.

Tree felling is rarely as straightforward as it looks. Every job requires a site assessment first: considering access, proximity to buildings and boundaries, overhead cables, ground conditions, and what happens to the timber and waste.

Where space allows, trees can be felled in a single controlled cut. More often, particularly in gardens and urban settings, we dismantle the tree section by section from the top down, lowering each piece to the ground using ropes and rigging. This protects your property and gives us precise control throughout.

What We Assess Before Any Felling Job

  • Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and Conservation Area restrictions
  • Access for machinery: chipper, crane, or manual dismantling
  • Proximity to structures, boundaries, and overhead lines
  • Health and structural condition of the tree
  • Disposal requirements: chip on site, logs for firewood, or full removal
  • Ground protection for lawns and driveways

Difficult Access & Confined Spaces

We regularly work in small gardens, yards with no vehicle access, and sites adjacent to buildings where a straight fell isn't an option. Our team is trained in aerial dismantling, working from the canopy down, which means we can tackle trees that other contractors won't quote for.

For larger trees or those with restricted ground access, we also work with crane operators to lift sections clear of obstacles. We've used this method on some of the most technically demanding removals in South East London.

Do You Need Permission?

If your tree has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) you need the council's written consent before any work; in a Conservation Area you must give six weeks' notice first. Unauthorised felling of a protected tree can bring an unlimited fine. We check for TPOs on every job and can advise on the application process, or handle it on your behalf.

“We don't just fell trees. We plan the whole job from assessment to clean-up. The site should look better when we leave than when we arrived.”

Cost

What the price depends on.

  • How tall the tree is, and how close it stands to buildings, fences or roads
  • Whether it can come down in one piece or has to be taken down in sections
  • Whether you'd like the stump ground out as well
  • Whether you keep the logs or we take everything away
  • Any TPO or Conservation Area paperwork

Every quote is free, written and itemised, with no obligation to go ahead.

All FAQs →
Do I need permission to cut down a tree?

Most garden trees need no permission. If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), you need written consent from the council before any work. If you're in a Conservation Area, you must give the council six weeks' notice before working on trees with a trunk over 7.5cm. Even dead trees under a TPO or in a Conservation Area need 5 working days' notice. Unauthorised work on a protected tree can bring an unlimited fine. We check TPO and Conservation Area status before every job. Check your tree in 30 seconds

Do you remove tree stumps?

Yes. We grind stumps of all sizes, usually 150–300mm below ground depending on what you plan to do with the space, and our grinder fits restricted gardens. It can be done at the same time as felling or separately, and the chippings can be left as mulch or taken away. Stump removal

What happens to the wood and debris?

A full clean-up is standard. Green waste is chipped on site and taken away. Timber can be cut into logs and left for you, or removed. Where it's worth it, we mill trunks into planks for furniture makers and community projects. We're a registered waste carrier.
