Sustainability

We Work in Nature.
We Respect It.

Every tree we touch is part of an ecosystem. Here's how we make sure our work leaves things better than we found them.

🪵

Nothing Goes to Waste

Timber from felled trees is either milled into planks for furniture and crafts, cut into logs for firewood, or donated to schools and community projects. Green waste is chipped on site. We've never sent good timber to landfill.

🐦

Wildlife & Nesting Season Awareness

Before any job we assess the tree for active nests, bat roosts and protected species. We plan work around nesting seasons where possible, and advise clients when timing needs to change to protect resident wildlife.

🪚

Timber Milling

City trees are an underrated source of high-quality sustainable hardwood. We mill selected felled trunks into boards for furniture makers and clients, giving trees a second life rather than chipping them.

🔬

Research Partnerships

We partnered with Imperial College London to install solar-powered acoustic surveillance equipment in Joyden's Wood SSSI: part of a global biodiversity monitoring study that began in the rainforests of Borneo.

🏫

Community Wood Donations

We donate timber, wood discs and milled sections to local schools and community groups. Birkbeck Primary School in Sidcup used our donated wood to build an outdoor kitchen for their pupils.

♻️

Responsible Disposal

All waste produced on our jobs is disposed of through licensed waste carriers. We hold the appropriate waste carrier licence and can provide documentation on request.

TPOs & Conservation Areas

We Navigate the Rules So You Don't Have To

Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and Conservation Area restrictions exist to protect trees of significant amenity value. Carrying out unauthorised work on a protected tree can result in an unlimited fine.

Before any work begins, we check whether your trees are subject to any restrictions. If consent is required, we can advise on the application process and help you understand what work is and isn't permitted.

We also advise on Ash Dieback, Oak Processionary Moth and other disease issues that may affect your trees, and what your obligations as a landowner are.
